Callaway Conkright took the top individual honor in Wednesday's three-team golf tournament, shooting 3 under par to edge Yuma Catholic's Meyer Shill by a stroke.
The Knights and the Shamrocks ended the day in a stalemate, finishing the team competition deadlocked at 149. Horizon Honors trailed significantly, scoring 203 on the Power Ranch Course.
Joining his brother on the individual leaderboard was sophomore
Graeson Conkright, who took third overall with his 2 over par 35 effort.
In sixth place was senior
Brody Moore. Moore, who recently signed on to play collegiate golf at Chandler-Gilbert Community College, shot a 39 (4 over) as the Knights' second seed.
Junior
Luke Barton (11th overall) and sophomore
Elese Lambeth (12th overall) rounded out the Gilbert Christian scoring, adding 41 and 42 points, respectively, to the squad's final tally.
GCHS is currently ranked fifth among AIA Division III co-ed schools.
Golf is back in action at Trilogy Power Ranch on April 23rd against Fountain Hills and Payson. The tournament is scheduled to begin at 3:45pm.
