(GILBERT, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian golf honored its seniors, PJ Segerstrom and Brayden Loving, for their dedication to the program and for their superb leadership, prior to the final home match of the season on Thursday. Following the celebration, the team refocused and took care of business, overwhelming challengers Benjamin Franklin and Phoenix Christian by a whopping 43 strokes.
"It was senior night, and it was a bittersweet day to be coaching my son's last home match of his high school golf career," Head Coach Matt Segerstrom said. "However, the season isn't over and I'm very excited and hopeful to see what this team can do at the state championship tournament in May!"
Junior Brody Moore continued his hot streak of play, to claim the top-spot individually with a one-over par score of 36.
Segerstrom and Callaway Conkright tied for second place, with a pair of strong three-over par 38 performances, while Luke Barton and Gage Lewis shot a 42 and a 43, respectively, for the Knights.

Gilbert Christian has one remaining regular season match on the schedule, before the team tries its hand at the 2024 AIA State Golf Championships on May 6th and 7th. The final contest is slated for April 30th (Toka Sticks, 3:00pm) against Ben Franklin, Santa Cruz and ALA-Queen Creek.
