(GILBERT, Ariz.) Unselfish play propelled Gilbert Christian past San Tan Foothills (6-4) 69-44 on Wednesday evening at home. The Knights got 15 points apiece from senior Logan Lucero and junior Taylor Abrahamson in the contest.

Lucero's notable double-double line also included 11 rebounds and a team-best five assists. Abrahamson, for his part, nailed five from beyond the arc, and tallied three steals in the victory.

With 13 points and 13 boards, senior Owen Fermoyle made his own luck against the Sabercats, compiling the team's second double-double of the night. Senior Tyler Burr also put together a solid line, with 14 points, 6 rebounds and a game-high five steals.

"Logan and Owen played great in this game, they know how to play ball the right way," Head Coach Jason Pasquariello said. "It was great to see Taylor light it up! He has been playing really well of late. We talk a lot about what can you do to impact the team in a positive way when shots aren't falling and he has been doing that. Last night he did both for us."

The Knights logged 18 assists in the game, with Fermoyle, Burr, and freshman Colin Burke each dishing three, and senior Rydan Barth handing out a pair from the post.

Barth also grabbed six rebounds for the squad, in 19 minutes of action.

"We talk a lot about being 'Hungry, Humble and Smart,'" Pasquariello said. "These guys embody those qualities every time they take the floor. We are really starting to figure things out on the defensive end. In our last four games we have held teams under 45 points. If you are holding high school teams consistently under 48, you are going to win a lot of games. The biggest improvement has been with our rebounding, we knew coming into this year that might be something that could be an issue. Have to hand it to the guys, they have committed to boxing out and have done a very good job on the boards this season. We were really aggressive going after offensive boards as well. Those are effort plays, and the extra possessions add up. I thought that Logan and Rydan did a great job in attacking the glass tonight."

Gilbert Christian is currently the top-ranked team in the 3A Conference at 10-0 overall.

The Knights are scheduled to host Payson (5-5) on Saturday evening at 7:00pm.
