(FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz.) Lopemi Omole led the way for Gilbert Christian in a big 57-46 win at Fountain Hills Thursday. The senior forward did it all, scoring a career-high 24 points and grabbing an astonishing 15 rebounds as the Knights knocked off another opponent to improve to 4-1 on the season.

Omole posted 12 of his 24 points in the fourth quarter. He shot 10-for-15 from the floor in the contest.

"Fountain Hills is such a well-coached team," Head Coach Jason Pasquariello said. "Coach Bonner had them prepared and they were able to dictate the tempo of the game for three quarters tonight. We had a huge fourth though, especially on the defensive end. Our defense really kept us in this game. I loved the effort out there and I thought we had some key contributors in Lopemi, who was so clutch for us, and in Kamari Stanbury, who was locked in and really looking to attack down the stretch. Owen Fermoyle also played some really great defense and hit two huge threes for us in the second half."

Stanbury finished the affair with eight points, four rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals. The sophomore point guard did not turn the ball over in the competitive match-up. Junior Logan Lucero was also essential for GCHS in the victory, nailing a pair from behind the arc, to complete the game with eight points and four rebounds of his own.

Fermoyle was bullseye for Gilbert Christian, going 2-for-2 from deep in 18 minutes of action. He also managed two rebounds and assist for the Knights.

With the loss, the Falcons drop to 5-2 on the year.

Up next for GCHS is a road trip to Yuma Catholic (5-1). The game is scheduled for Saturday, January 6th, with a 12:30pm tip-off.
