(GLOBE, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian recorded its biggest win of the season on Tuesday, defeating Globe-Miami 20-0 on the road in regional boys' soccer action. The Knights mercy-ruled the Tigers in the affair.
With the win, GCHS improves to 5-0 overall. Globe falls to 2-2 with the loss.
Goals and assists were across the board, with senior Kaleb Powell, senior Sam Cavinder, junior Brody Moore, sophomore Noah Collier, sophomore Noah Cooper, freshman Kaden White, sophomore Jackson Lundberg and senior Jackson Dolan all contributing in the offensive rout.
Defensively, it was another clean sheet for GCHS and its formidable backline of Dolan, Lundberg, sophomore Lief Littlefield, senior Antonio Lopez, sophomore Logan Thompson and sophomore keeper Hyatt Lang. The Knights have limited 2023-24 opponents to just three goals, and have yet to allow a regional opponent to score.
"In a game like this, it is easy to get sloppy and selfish, but our players remained disciplined and focused and unselfish the entire game," Head Coach Devon Dickinson said. "I thought we showed excellence in all aspects of the game tonight. Our entire coaching staff is very proud of these guys and how we played."
Gilbert Christian looks to continue its streak of regional shut-outs on January 8th at Coolidge (6:00pm). The Knights return home two days later on January 10th to face Florence (6:00pm) in more regional action, and will finish the week with another game against Crismon at home on January 12th (4:00pm).
