(GILBERT, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian High School is excited to announce Alex Martinez as the next Head Boys Soccer Coach of the Knights.

Martinez joins Gilbert Christian following six seasons on the coaching staff at Perry High School, where he served as Varsity Assistant Coach and JV Head Coach. During his tenure, the Pumas advanced to three state championship matches, capturing back-to-back 6A state championships while competing in Arizona's largest high school classification.

Away from the field, Martinez serves on the Next Gen team at First Baptist Chandler, investing in middle school and high school students through leadership and discipleship. His passion for developing young men spiritually, academically, and athletically aligns closely with the mission of Gilbert Christian Schools.

Martinez takes over one of Arizona's premier small-school teams. The Knights have established themselves as one of the state's elite soccer programs, finishing as 3A Conference runner-up in 2024 before capturing back-to-back titles in 2025 and 2026.

Gilbert Christian returns a talented core from its championship teams, giving Martinez an experienced group to build upon as the program looks to continue competing at the highest level.

Martinez succeeds Coach Devon Dickinson, who recently stepped away after leading the Knights to the most successful stretch in program history. Under Dickinson's leadership, Gilbert Christian reached three consecutive state championship matches, winning back-to-back 3A state titles while building a culture of excellence that elevated the program to statewide prominence. We are grateful for Coach Dickinson's leadership, investment in our student-athletes, and lasting impact on Gilbert Christian soccer.
