(GLOBE, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian boys basketball came up with another huge win on Tuesday evening, besting the Globe Tigers 111-32 on the road. The Knights were led by junior Jace Olson, who registered 21 points in thirteen minutes of play. Olson has scored 21 points in three different games this season.
Thirteen Knights put points on the board in the affair. Junior Owen Fermoyle had a breakout game for GCHS, scoring 19 points in limited minutes. He also grabbed three rebounds, dished three assists, and took a charge for the Knights.
"Offensively, this was an excellent night for us," Head Coach Jason Pasquariello said. "When you have 29 assists and only seven turnovers, that means you are playing smart and selfless basketball."
Senior Keon Talgo hit four from downtown and finished with 16 points, while junior Logan Lucero did it all, scoring 14, finding open teammates to tally a team-high seven assists, and came up with five steals on the night.
Sophomore Kamari Stanbury, who was recently named as an AIA All-Conference Honorable Mention selection for his football prowess, made his defensive presence known on the court, with five steals against the Tigers. Stanbury also added four assists for GCHS in 12 minutes of playing time.
Gilbert Christian returns home today for a 7:00pm match-up against San Tan Charter. The freshman/sophomore team is on first, at 4:00pm, and will be followed by a junior varsity contest at 5:30pm.
