Knights Track Strong at Notre Dame Prep

(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian competed against seven track and field programs at Notre Dame Preparatory on Wednesday afternoon. The Knights fared well in the affair, with the GCHS girls posting 136 points to place third overall, and the boys claiming fourth following an 85-point performance. 
 
Notre Dame Prep won the meet with 224 (boys) and 202 (girls) points, respectively. 
 
Gilbert Christian logged an incredible 37 personal records during Wednesday's competition. Sophomore Addie Hansen posted a PR of her own in the high jump, while breaking the GCHS school record with a leap of 5'0".
 
Hansen is the third athlete of the 2025 season to surpass an all-time Gilbert Christian mark. Junior Bennett Juve was the first, obtaining the school's long jump record (21'4") while at Valley Christian in the first meet of the season. The VCHS event also saw senior Addison Bisceglie shatter the girls' 3200m record, running an 11:15 to best the old mark by 13 seconds. 
 
Juve and sophomore Kai Ahlman had success in the NDP boys' 100m dash, tying for fifth in 11.77. Ahlman also medaled in the 200m, coming in third after running a PR of 23.59 for the Knights. 
 
Senior Rydan Barth tallied points for the boys in the 200 (7th) and the 400 (3rd), both events which he also registered season-fastest marks in. 
 
In the 800m final, sophomore Turner Dawson and freshman Luke Solomon excelled for the GCHS boys, placing fourth and sixth, respectively, with a pair of personal records. Solomon also managed a PR in the boys 1600m (5:04.31), where he crossed the line in fifth. 
 
Bisceglie managed a PR her own in the 400-meter race, where she secured first in 60 seconds flat to earn top points for the Gilbert Christian girls. Sophomore Madelyn Willms also made her mark in the 400, coming in third overall with a time of 1:05.98. Finishing fourth, was Hansen, who managed a season record of 1:06.83.
 
It was no surprise then, that the GCHS girls' team took the crown in the 400m relay, which featured Bisceglie, Willms, Hansen, and sophomore Mila Russo clocking a 4:11.93.
  
Russo also scored big in the 800m race, crossing the line in second with a season-best mark of 2:30.01. 
 
In the 3200m, freshman Ellia Pittenturf had success, coming in third with a PR of 15:06.79. Her counterpart on the boys' side, sophomore Vaughn Sees, ran an 11:35.15 PR to also place third overall for the Knights. 
 
In the throwing field events, senior Kaila Aston stood apart, adding major points for the girls with pair of first place marks in the shotput and the discus, and a second-place toss in the javelin.
 
The GCHS jumpers were led by junior Gianna Licea, who finished first in the triple jump (29' 3.75") and fourth in the long jump (14'5") for the girls' team. Juve and senior Maccoy Villone battled for first and second in the boys' long jump competition, where Juve took the top spot, and Villone posted a PR. In the triple jump, it was flipped, with Villone taking second, and Juve tallying a PR.
 
The Knights are back in action on March 15th at Seton Catholic's Small Schools Invitational. The meet is slated to begin at 9:00am.
