(PARKER, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian peppered Parker's net in Wednesday's girls soccer match-up, putting 13 between the goal posts in the one-sided triumph. Eleven different players scored or dished an assist for the Knights in the contest. 

The Broncs were held scoreless by the GCHS defense. Senior Michelle Lopez earned the win, her eighth of the season, at keeper for the Knights.

Senior Caprice Chiuchiolo's four-goal, three-assist haul grossed her 13 points and bragging rights as the top offensive producer on the field, though she had competition from a surprising challenger, in sophomore defender Charlotte Shimkus. 

Shimkus scored twice in the affair while logging three assists of her own, for a season-high seven points. A leader in the backfield, Shimkus has posed a significant threat on the offensive end in 2024-25, with her ball control, power, and soccer IQ allowing her to find the back of the net for the Knights from anywhere on the pitch. 

Sophomore Angie Chiuchiolo, another integral Knights' defender, also got in on the offensive action in the win, scoring her goal courtesy of Shimkus and her sister, Caprice. 

Four GCHS freshmen managed to find the back of the net against the Broncs. Mackenzie Henderson, Brinkley Stansberry, Reese Tammany, and Adriana Vranicic made the Class of 2028 proud, combining for four goals and a trio of assists on the day. 

Rounding out the scoring effort were junior Jersi Wilson and sophomore Meredith Johnson, with one each. Junior Amber Peterson and sophomore Millie Torre registered two assists apiece in the shoutout. 

Gilbert Christian (8-2) has two games remaining in the regular season. Bourgade Catholic is next, on the docket for 4:00pm on Friday, January 31st. Following the conclusion of the match, the Knights will honor our four wonderful seniors and their respective families.
