(GILBERT, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian out-hit Benjamin Franklin (12-to-11) in Tuesday's softball match-up, but fell 11-6 after a tough fourth inning, which saw the Chargers score six unanswered runs.

Senior Jaidyn Wilson and freshman Maddy Harmon combined for six of the Knights' hits, with three knocks apiece. All three of Harmon's at-bats resulted in doubles. She also scored three times for GCHS, and batted in a pair of runs. 

Six different players were responsible for the remainder of the Knights' offensive production. Freshman Abby Trask, junior Kylee Olinger, senior Abby Goble, senior Ellie Hommel, sophomore Devin Vanni and freshman Meredith Whitehurst all managed a hit in the affair. 

Whitehurst struck out five in seven innings of work for GCHS. She was one of four players to steal a base in the contest. Also accomplishing the feat were Harmon, Olinger and Vanni. 

Softball takes the field again on Friday, April 12th against ALA-Anthem South (Anthem Community Softball Field). The regional match-up is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm.
