(GILBERT, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian girls soccer posted a resounding 13-0 win against Bourgade Catholic on Wednesday evening at home. The Knights were led by freshman Mila Russo, who registered four goals for the elusive 'haul' in her first high school contest, and junior Caprice Chiuchiolo, who collected her first hat-trick of the season.

The contest was mercy-ruled at the 60-minute mark.

Senior captain Daniella Orellana notched two goals for the Knights, looking strong and tenacious on the field after an injury kept her out half of her junior year.

"It felt so good to be back with my team and to be able to play the game that I love the most," Daniella Orellana said. "Being able to play again, after being taken away due to injury, makes me so grateful for the team and being able to compete alongside my teammates. I will never forget this moment of playing the first game, of my last season, for my dad. It's a special feeling to have him coaching and being there for me. I am so impressed with the team's chemistry and all of the talent we have. I was really proud of our freshman today for stepping up. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us!"

Seniors Jaidyn Wilson and Charity Hunt showed leadership on the turf, aiding in the Knights' offensive production as they notched a goal apiece in the big win, and the freshman duo of Madyn Allan and Riley Bublitz rounded out the scoring effort for GCHS.

Allan also managed a team-best three assists in the affair. Chiuchiolo was next in the ranks, dishing two on the day for the Knights. Wilson also registered an assist in the match.

"During the beginning of this season, I did not get the opportunity to watch Madyn Allan," Head Coach Hector Orellana said. "I saw her talent, but today I was made aware that she is a major threat. She brought us balance on all sides of the attack and I think her versatility and ability to play all positions is a major key for us going forward."

The defense did not allow a shot in the game.

Next up for the Knights is Scottsdale Christian. The away match-up is scheduled for December 5th at 4:00pm.
