Knights Ablaze

GCHS Scorches ALA-Ironwood 34-0

5/1/2025 2:07:00 PM

(GILBERT, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian's offense was hot enough to set the ocean on fire against ALA-Ironwood on Monday, as the Knights compiled 34 runs on 20 hits (in three innings!) before the mercy-rule was enforced.

The mound was also ablaze, as GCHS senior hurlers Brody Aubut and Caleb Johnson combined to leave the Warriors scoreless and hitless on the day.

The tone for the game was set early, as sophomore Dane Coyle and senior Sam Webb led off with a pair of back-to-back solo shots to put the Knights out front.

Sophomore Jackson LaRoche went 3 for 3 in the affair, to lead all players. Six different batters managed a pair of hits in the contest:  Coyle, Webb, Aubut, sophomore Asher McIntire, sophomore Logan King and junior Nate Nielsen

Hitting his second grand slam of the season, was freshman Camden "Grand-Slamden" Pallas, whose five RBI were tops for the Knights. Not far behind, was Webb, who went 2 for 2 with four RBI, five runs scored, and a dinger. Aubut and LaRoche were next in line with three RBI apiece.

Aubut, the Knights' starter, logged the win on the mound with five strikeouts in three innings. Johnson ended the bonfire in the fourth, retiring three-straight with a pair of his own.

Gilbert Christian finishes the regular season at 14-3 overall.
