Amy Ford began coaching at GCHS in 2022. Amy fell in love with running at an early age, growing up in a family of runners who frequently participated in 5ks on weekends. She attended a Christian high school in Washington state where she ran cross country and track. Her sophomore year, she won the State A Cross Country title in a time of 18:33. In her career, she also garnered several runner-up titles. Additionally, Amy found track success with class A wins in the 800, 1600, and 4x400, while her team took home a state championship. Amy went on to compete at the Division I level for University of Washington. She ran the 6k on the XC squad, and also specialized in the 800 meters and the steeple chase during track season. Amy knows what it takes to compete at a high level in both high school and college and has experienced several amazing coaches along the way. Amy got into coaching to give back to the sport and to show kids how they can build their character and give glory to God through participation in their sport. Amy has a PhD in neuropsychology. When she is not coaching, she works as a psychologist and is the owner of several mental health clinics in Washington State. Ford stays busy, helping her husband stage and design for his house-flipping business. She has been married to her high school sweetheart Adam for 22 years and has two kids, Tatum and Weston.
