(SCOTTSDALE, Ariz.) Gilbert Christian volleyball faltered Monday evening, falling in three sets (22-25, 14-25, 16-25) to Scottsdale Christian Academy on the road.

The Knights have played three matches in four days. With the loss, GCHS drops to 5-4 overall. SCA moves to 4-1 on the season.

"As a team, we need to work on staying consistent out of system and in discomfort," Head Coach Alyssa Misuraca said. "We did have some individuals who were consistent for us tonight. I thought that Lillie Duitsman and Kaila Aston were a really strong combo. Lille played extremely well all-around, and established an offense out of the backrow to stay a threat. Kaila is always so good for us at the net. The plays that she makes are exciting, and bring the fire for us."

The sophomore trio of Alexia Heyn, Addie Steil, and Sidney Loth were also bright spots for Gilbert Christian in the contest.

"Alex and Addie did a great job stepping up, for the second match in a row," Misuraca said. "They've been strong and consistent for us in some pretty uncomfortable situations on the court. Sidney showed a lot of maturity, as well. She was solid on defense and made a significant difference for us in the backrow tonight."

The Knights look to turn it around at home on Tuesday against Ben Franklin. Varsity is scheduled to begin its match at 6:00pm, after the freshman/sophomore and junior varsity games commence.
